The Search 4 Happiness
Day 105 - Spring

Over the years, as I look back on the four seasons, I realize just how much each represents a different aspect of life in general. More or less, our world has learned to revolve around these seasons. Our cultures, traditions, agriculture, working environment, exercise, hobbies, and holidays are all deeply influenced by the changing seasons.
A huge array of our lives is not specific to time but is more so based around the seasonal changes in the world.
Spring is a wonderful season that contributes greatly to the search for happiness. Out of the depths of a harsh winter, new life begins to emerge. A kaleidoscope of colours begins to shine through as plants start to blossom once more. Animals break free from the grips of the cold and somewhat desolate climate, and we humans find new balance and energy in the increased temperature, sunlight, and vibrancy.
The new spring season brings about new ideas and emotions. It allows people to start fresh in alignment with nature and our surroundings, providing an opportunity for new ideas to begin to formulate and for existing ideas to solidify.
In the Southern hemisphere, spring occurs between September and November. Traditionally, as we head towards November, we start to heat up a bit, and more adventures come to fruition. When I think back to my teenage years in Upper Hutt, during late spring, we would spend huge amounts of time in the bush and by the river. The memories of jumping off cliffs or running up the fire trails during spring bring a rush of joy into my soul as I reminisce about the evolution each year as winter starts to loosen its grip and the fresh spring air, warm breeze, and cool waters start to take hold.
As I began to write this blog today and decided to talk about spring, I was lost in thought, reflecting on how I feel about this season and what aspects of it bring or have brought me happiness. I thought deeply about trying to understand the relevance and what it signifies to me. As I deciphered memories, thoughts, and emotions, I was met with a period of time that I had somewhat forgotten - a period in time when I found immense joy and happiness. It was wonderful to open that memory again.
I think sometimes, in order to succeed in our search for happiness, we must begin at any moment in time, regardless of understanding the direction, and just move forward. Follow an unknown path within your own mind, and you never know what doors you might reopen or new paths you might find along the way.
You never know what you'll find in a place you've never looked, or a door you forgot existed.
Thanks,
Dean
