The Search 4 Happiness
Day 112 - Backseat
8/15/20232 min read
When an energy draws you in or draws you away, it is important to take a backseat position within the confines of your own mind and evaluate the energy as such. Falling behind the energy is important in maintaining distance to prevent being drawn too far in and subsequently losing sight of your internal focus and understanding of the situation.
Sometimes when you are in a position where you find yourself misinterpreting or overanalysing an energy, it has the capacity to throw you into a deep and confused state where you can make irrational decisions, under or overestimate the situation, or look at something incorrectly. By doing so, you can create both negative and positive interactions which have the capacity to alter your perspective of times or reposition your existing path.
Contemplate greatly what negative drawing energy really warrants your consciousness to be dictated into irrational thoughts. Be free and allow these trains of thought to flow freely.
I received a tenure award from my company today as I recently completed five years. There were a wide range of recipients across most departments, including various tenure milestones from five to twenty-five years. Each recipient came up, received an award, and a present to commemorate the achievement.
As each staff member came up and received it, the corresponding manager said some words to congratulate them. I don't necessarily care too much about receiving recognition, and as a primarily operations staff member I don't receive a lot of praise as the majority of my work is in the background. To be honest, I consider my operations a success if no one is aware of the happenings. Yet, we are always adapting, evolving, and maintaining compliance.
However, today, as everyone received something from their manager, I became anxious in anticipation and somewhat looked forward to it. Unfortunately, due to unknown circumstances, my manager was unavailable and nothing was really said. This made me feel very unappreciated and hurt my feelings somewhat. In the initial moments of going up to receive the award, I felt a bit awkward.
It is in moments like these when you are tested in positions of insecurity that you must maintain that backseat position, absorb the energy, and evaluate from a neutral standpoint in the background of your mind. Evaluate as the consciousness that forms you. I struggled in that moment; I don't like those types of moments at all and I am constantly working to evolve in them.
After leaving the award ceremony, I took a moment to reflect. And although disappointed in the outcome, slightly confused about my value, and mixed emotions about the milestone, I reevaluated the tenure and reflected on the vast achievements and success I believe I have accomplished. I reflected on the past five years in both my personal, professional, physical, emotional, and spiritual journey and took solace in what has been done.
It is sometimes difficult to interpret the emotions and thought processes running through your mind. It is difficult to come to the realization that the voice inside your head is a projection of a vast array of interwoven ideas, concepts, education, and life lessons that formulate a new entity. Subsequently, you come to the realization that in the backseat is your consciousness, your soul, yet it is also the driving force in your pursuit of life.
Thanks,
