I’ve been working on an idea for a framework that I believe has some potential as a model to contribute to the search for happiness. While I was waiting at a traffic light some time back, I observed the stationary state, the slow progression, and the forward movement. I thought it could be a potential metaphor for life and its progressive stages. It made me question the states of static consideration, the positioning in preparation for movement, and the forward momentum in the pursuit of improvement, growth, and giving back.

Red Light - Reflection, Internal Dialogue, and Introspection

During this phase, it is crucial for all of us to take a moment to pause and reflect on our emotions, thoughts, and experiences. Engage in self-reflection and internal assessment. This can be achieved through meditation and journaling to gain insights into our current strengths, weaknesses, and values. This stop position allows us to consolidate our emotions and ideas, creating a deeper understanding of ourselves.

Sometimes I think so many of us forget to stop, take a moment, and reflect on our lives. Take a brief period of time to analyse and evaluate both the positives and negatives and assess on a more formal and deeper stand point how we truly feel about ourselves and emotions. Only in fixed moments of true reflection and self assessment can we allow our minds to wonder in and out of dialogue.

The ability to break down and critically assess our situation, our ideas, our current standing in reflection of the person we wish to become, are all important facets in understanding who we are and whether we are truly in alignment with our pursuit in the search for happiness.

Reflection, internal dialogue and introspection are all a consolidated effort to truly grasp our current situation and find a deeper interpretation of our purpose, happiness and subsequent attainment of fulfillment in our lives.
