The Search 4 Happiness
Day 118 - The Traffic Light Framework

Over the past few days, I have written about a framework I developed as a potential avenue to succeed in the search for happiness. Happiness is an individual pursuit, and there isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. There isn't a template to work off, or an instruction manual to follow. It is a conscious effort to find meaning and purpose in our lives, to find enjoyment in our lives without any preconceived ideas about what aspects of life as a whole are the most successful methods of achieving happiness. One person's treasure is another person's trash, so why would one person's idea be the foundation stone of everyone's pathway to achieve happiness?
The framework I developed is created based on an idea of progressive movements in a direction from a time of internal dialogue, introspection, and reflection through to a goal and calculated planning phase, followed by a conscious rollout of said planning and goal setting.
Reflection and internal dialogue are fundamental facets of achieving happiness. If we are to achieve and maintain happiness, the first step is to identify the key elements that build ourselves. Our wants, needs, and desires, our flaws and negative attributes, the people we aspire to be, and the gaps in which we fail to meet them.
The ability to reflect with truth and meaning, with uncompromising focus on ourselves and developing the understanding of the roots of our consciousness, creates the base blocks in building a pathway of growth, a pathway in which we follow towards the person we wish to become. We may not know exactly who that person is, we may just feel an instinctual drive towards a certain realm of life, but we can iron out our shortfalls based on the person we believe we are and match that against the person we wish to be. Subsequently, we are left with the gap, the gap we must close in order to reach our destination. However, the destination is always on the horizon, and it is through the search, development, and drive to build the vehicle that can bring us to the destination, which is the core of developing everlasting happiness
Once we have the map, developed the plan, and constructed the vehicle, only then can we progress from the orange light to the green light. The green light signifies the starting line in which we begin the never-ending pursuit of improvement, the never-ending pursuit of growth and progress, the never-ending search for happiness.
Understand yourself, understand the vision, pursue the belief in who you wish to become, without being compromised by external factors. Pursue the never-ending challenge of the battle against yourself.
Thanks,
Dean
