I went to see a psychiatrist named Dr. Robert Waldinger last week, and during his talk, he asked everyone to complete an exercise. The exercise was to reach out to someone you haven't spoken to in a while and let them know that you're thinking of them.

This exercise was meaningful in a few different facets and brought forward a lot of stored memories, ideas, thoughts, and emotions about a few people from various times and places in my life. I reached out to an old friend that I met at University in Dunedin; we also played rugby together, and during our time in Dunedin, we became really good friends. Over the years, we have gone our separate ways, and life just hasn't provided an intersection since. Although we haven't seen each other for probably over 10 years, I have still thought of him. He's thought of me and still considers our friendship very close.

I reached out to him, and we've been speaking over the last few days on and off. However, one of the most interesting things is that although we haven't really been keeping up to date on each other's lives, we are actually traversing a similar stage in our lives and pursuing similar goals and objectives. Objectives and goals that don't really have any correlation to the time in which we were in frequent contact.

Does the projection of our objectives and goals into the universe create a transmission in which similar wavelengths across previously connected energies merge once more? I have always wondered about manifestation and whether transmitting our beliefs, goals and aspirations beyond the confines of our mind, has the capacity to become tangible.

When we establish a deep connection with others, regardless of the time apart, we create a log in space and time that exists forever: a memory and moment in time in which our energies are exchanged and create a signature that we share.

Reopening a connection on a whim is a wonderful contributing factor in the search for happiness. As life becomes busier and busier, and time seems to slip away from us, it's important to take a step back and reminisce about old friendships or shared moments that may have been put on the shelf and reach back out. You never know what that simple message of reaching back out or reopening a lost gateway may do for you, them, or the world.

Thanks,

Dean
