Over the past 10 days, I have discussed gratitude, perspective, the ability to control and understand what's out of our control. The impressions we make on others and the impressions we are subject to, innovation, KRS One's acronym G.U.N, how a clean house can drastically contribute to a clear mind, senior management, and how comparison of others, when done in a controlled manner, can help us progress in a positive way.
Gratitude - Gratitude in all facets of life is important to truly appreciate the things you have and to reflect of the joy and happiness both having these things are and the actual emotion of feeling gratitude for the various privileges, connections, community and environment we get to enjoy. I constantly feel grateful for various aspects including the opportunity to have time for myself, loving family, access to fitness facilities, the beauty of nature, and the ability to enjoy the present moment and express appreciation.
Perspective - Our perception of the world is shaped by both the intricate workings of our brain and the physical world itself, but by consciously altering our perspective, we can create a more desirable reality and find happiness.
Control - Accepting that many aspects of our lives are out of our control, while also understanding what is within our control, is important for maintaining balance and security in our search for happiness. Having control over our own actions and decisions empowers us, providing a sense of purpose and direction towards achieving our goals and finding fulfillment.
Impressions - Throughout our lives, the impressions we make on others, whether good or bad, can have a lasting impact on our interactions and relationships, shaping our perspective of the world and influencing our happiness. On the contrast it is incredibly important to evaluate the impressions we take on board for ourselves, ensuring that whatever impression that may be impacting us falls within our values, morals and pathway of growth.
Innovation - Constant innovation in all aspects of life is crucial for personal growth and improvement, as it allows us to find new ways to progress, create new ideas, and nurture new environments. It is important to recognize and address gaps between who we are and who we want to become by reflecting on our attributes and flaws, and actively working to resolve or improve them. Innovation helps streamline inefficiencies and overhaul areas of our lives that feel lacking, contributing to personal growth, happiness, and fulfillment.
G.U.N - God. Universe. Nature an acronym created by rapper KRS One, represents a belief system that emphasises acknowledging a higher power, embracing the infinite possibilities of the universe, and appreciating the importance of nature in order to cultivate happiness and fulfillment in our lives.
Clean House, Clear Mind - The thought of physically cleaning the house or parts of it can be frustrating, but it is important to recognize that maintaining a tidy home is both a reflection of the state of our mind and a powerful technique to unwind internal stress. By starting anywhere and tackling one aspect at a time, we can find resolve and create a clear mind, allowing for an open pathway to fulfillment and happiness.
Management - The presence of high-level executives at work triggered anticipation among staff, leading to heightened anxiety and efforts to impress. This desire for recognition and validation stems from the basic human need for acknowledgment and can foster a sense of purpose and aspiration. However, the pressure to make a lasting impression can also result in feelings of underachievement and anxiety. Additionally, the increased presence of superiors alters workplace dynamics, emphasizing adherence to protocols and company culture. It is crucial to remain confident in one's abilities and contribution to objectives, without relying purely on external validation.
Comparative Improvement - Comparing oneself to successful individuals can be a positive and powerful practice, as long as it is aimed at personal growth and development, rather than seeking superiority or undermining others. It is important to evaluate and draw inspiration from others' achievements, while avoiding harmful comparisons and focusing on self-improvement opportunities.
Throughout the last few days, I've been feeling fairly low and emotionless. Sometimes, this is just the case for all of us, and that's fine. It's important to understand that as humans, we simply fluctuate through emotions, space, and time constantly. That's just all part of the journey of life. I've had some significant insights into others' emotions and had some great opportunities to reflect. I resonated with a rapper and his insight into the world, and I broke down some tangible aspects of life into connection with our consciousness.
As the weeks progress and I move further towards my goal, it’s both an amazing journey and a test of will and focus in continuing the search for happiness. I’m learning more about the world, more about significant figures within the realm of happiness and philosophy, and more about myself every single day. I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes me and am excited about continuing the journey toward deeper purpose, fulfillment and growth.
Thanks,
Dean
