The Search 4 Happiness
Day 149 - Dance

“Sing like no one is listening, dance like no one is watching, live as though heaven is on earth" - Audrey Hepburn.
Allowing yourself the freedom to express your feelings and emotions without any concern for how others perceive you is a freedom like no other. The ability to dance to any sound that moves you, allowing your body the opportunity to flow freely however it wishes to move, and expressing the energy from within to every section of your body. These elements are true feelings of freedom and deep happiness.
A massive negative element that I believe modern society has created is a hierarchical structure that has influenced what should and shouldn't be done, who we should all be, and what we should do. It dictates how people should express themselves within the confines of what's deemed 'cool' or even 'normal'. As a result, people are afraid to express themselves freely, to sing like no one is listening, to dance like no one is watching, and to free themselves in the way they wish.
The ability to dance like you're the only person in the universe is a portrayal of true universal expression, as your consciousness and inner being have the opportunity to fully release themselves freely.
I have been trying some variations in my morning routine lately. As I've seen some mobility experts incorporate dance-type routines into their strength and mobility programs, as well as using it as a meditative exercise, I’ve decided to try it out. The movements are based on the feeling within and allowing your body to move however it guides you. At first it had felt quite strange, but as I’ve learnt to free myself and allow my body to flow as it naturally moves it has allowed me to warm my muscles better a deepen some of my movements.
This is probably the first time I have ever strategically incorporated dance into my exercise routines, but it is starting to grow on me and I feel a deeper connection starting to surface. It is not simply the dance that contributes to our search for happiness, but rather the concept of release. Releasing your consciousness without any question and allowing your true self to roam freely at will, without any external factors pressing you.
Thanks,
Dean
