Wow! 150 days in! Today is a big deal for me. I think that the ability to devote yourself to anything consistently, whatever the outcome, is a great, positive, and powerful thing. It’s important to try, it’s important to progress and improve, but it’s important to just keep moving forward consistently, regardless of truly knowing the destination. I started this blog and journey because it just felt right.

I don’t know where, if anywhere, it will take me, but it feels right. And each day that I continue on this journey, I learn something new about life, the world, the universe, myself, and my surroundings. So whatever the outcome of this journey, I would have learned something along the way, and that is success in itself.

As somewhat of a milestone, I reflect on the journey and progression throughout. The more I learn and read about my own and others' perception of happiness, the more frequently I see common themes and similar perspectives, even from conflicting ideologies on life. Internal dialogue, self-reflection, community and universal connection, the ability to evaluate life from a neutral standpoint, the ability to try and see good in everything, yet understand that in order for good to exist, so must evil. True happiness is expressed through understanding oneself and contentment with everything already in our possession. Simplicity over complexity, pursuit of growth and development of a constantly moving and evolving finish line. Embracing nature and living in the present because the present is all we really have.

There is no template to work off, no instruction manual, and no master of knowledge within the realm and concept of happiness. It is simply a personal state of being, a descriptive word that formulates purpose and potential fulfillment in human existence. In order for all of us to be happy, we must simply find happiness within ourselves. All the questions and all the answers lie within us and exist within the vastness of the universe. We are all connected, yet we are all unique. We are a collective, yet we are purely individual. Our purpose is to exist in the way we feel we should.

Thanks,

Dean
