The Search 4 Happiness
Day 157 - Happy or Not

At the end of the day, the question is simple. Do you want to be happy or not? Happiness is an output of our internal state, and if we can manage this state in a coordinated and balanced environment then we are in a strong position in our search for happiness.
Throughout my life I have met many people from many cultures, and a vast array of environments. From people in impoverished communities, to friends in privileged, high net worth families. One of the most common denominators that I have seen, is that regardless of the situation, regardless of the circumstances, the ones that seem to be happiest are the ones that choose to be happy, you can have millions of dollars, every material possession in your grasp, unlimited resources and the opportunity to do anything, yet, if your unable to choose to be happy, then your destined to never be.
Happiness is a completely internal state of mind and all the questions and answers in obtaining it are within ourselves. Sure, in this day and age there is most definitely a base line requirement to maintain our necessities, however, in saying that, I have still met many people who fall under this baseline that maintain some of the happiest outlooks of life and consistently project happiness.
The mindset of choosing to be happy is one fraught with many questions such as: How can I be happy if I don't have this? How can I be happy if I don't become that? Wouldn’t my life be great if it was like that? However, by removing all externally generated questions and focusing on ones like: Who am I? What do I truly enjoy? Who do I want to devote my precious time to? What type of life do I truly want to live?
If we can ask ourselves the right questions, we put ourselves in the best position in the search for happiness. Do you really want to be happy, or not?
Being happy is a choice, and that choice is not dependent on any external factors. It's up to all of us to make the choice, accept it, and live it. Regardless of the life anyone lives, it is truly a choice - simply a question: Do you want to be happy or not?
“Don’t neglect to accept who you really are, ask yourself the most authentic question, and receive the most authentic answer. Be true, be wise, be you” - $
