The Search 4 Happiness
Day 19 - Adventure

I had my first chance to look around Melbourne last night and a bit more today. I had a pretty big night last night so am feeling a bit worse for weather and feeling sorry for myself. Regardless of the feeling, just seeing and feeling something new is exciting in itself. Melbourne’s an amazing city, very cool vibe, very vibrant and active, heaps of cool little hidden spots and places of interest.
I think that learning and discovering new things and seeking new adventures is a great catalyst for happiness. It falls along the same lines of putting yourself out there, overcoming the angst of doing something unfamiliar and finding resolve. I started this trip off a bit anxious and it felt like I was travelling for the first time again which was obviously a bit of a funny feeling at the time but also an opportunity to overcome something.
Over the years experiences are the things that have created some of the most dramatic imprints on my life. I was always fortunate enough to grow up in a family where overseas travel was afforded and I was privileged to experience different cultures and environments from an early age but when I went backpacking with my wife for the first time and we headed through Asia it really opened my eyes and for each new thing I saw and feeling I felt, I grew and was constantly filled with happiness on a variety of levels.
Listening, learning, discovering new things and creating new adventures can be a great source of happiness. That doesn’t necessarily mean you need to travel all over the world to find it but it’s important to put yourself out of your comfort zone because with a new unknown adventures comes a new unknown pathway way with new unknown challenges to create new and unknown resolutions which will always lead to some sense of happiness.
Thanks,
Dean
