The Search 4 Happiness
Day 223 - Solitude

The act of finding solitude is a mixed bag of emotions. People seek solitude to escape reality, reflect on life, and some are forced into it. However, I’m all cases, it is within the ability to accept and be comfortable in this state that it becomes a key element in our internal dialogue and happiness output.
I think solitude and finding peace within ourselves to take a moment to evaluate, reflect, and consolidate our emotions, thoughts, and drives, create a forward momentum that is fundamental in the search for happiness.
It is often overstated that being content within our minds and being able to freely sit and listen to our thoughts is important. Within moments of pure introspection, dissecting our thoughts within our minds, with our consciousness, we can answer questions and solve problems that we may not have realized existed.
Fundamentally, I’m a bit of a loner. I enjoy time to myself, the opportunity to question my thoughts, ideas, and emotions. I enjoy being able to review these different facets and evaluate them against the voice inside my head and my soul. Over the years, as I've become more comfortable with simply sitting and listening to my thoughts, I have been able to answer questions that, prior to this, I was unable to articulate. This has subsequently allowed me to unravel aspects of my mind that have been somewhat wound up, like a ball of twine, for years.
At the end of the day, the only person, thing, or energy that can truly judge you is yourself. Being able to have open dialogue within your own mind, evaluating positive and negative aspects of your life on a day-by-day basis, is a critical component in our search for happiness. In order to succeed in our search for happiness, we must find balance in which we are happy within ourselves. We must understand the state in which we are comfortable and happy in solitude – solitude with just ourselves, our minds, our thoughts.
Thanks,
