The Search 4 Happiness
Day 225 - Overwhelmed

I think being overwhelmed is a very normal yet confronting feeling. We moved houses yesterday, and although the heavy lifting is completed and we have successfully relocated all of our things, the task ahead of outstanding building work, unpacking, and reassembling of furniture, appliances, and equipment seems daunting and overwhelming.
I wouldn't say that the feeling of being overwhelmed makes me happy, not at all. However, I feel like it is an opportunity to find ways to unravel your mind. When a task or collection of tasks seems overwhelming, and you don't know where to start, just start anywhere and build from there.
Yesterday, when we moved into our newly built home, I was so overwhelmed that I almost had to force myself to find joy in the moment. It was a collection of euphoria from the end of a fairly long and hard journey yet the beginning of multiple new ones.
However, I'm learning to understand that it is actually at these moments that we find happiness - happiness within the process of climbing out of a hole or a position that may seem somewhat stagnant.
Being overwhelmed is a very normal feeling, and one that we should all try to recognize, understand, and learn to traverse. Through understanding the feeling and maintaining a mindset of patience and control, we can create a pattern within our train of thought that can move almost instantly into a form of unravelling - a method of disentangling the various balls of twine within our minds that we call overwhelming.
Acknowledging that we will be confronted with periods of overwhelming moments is inevitable, understanding that through a constructive mindset of the techniques to adapt and figure our how to traverse through these periods is a key in our search for happiness.
Thanks,
Dean
