The Search 4 Happiness
Day 228 - Waiting

I was waiting in line the other day, and it made me think about the process of simply waiting for something special, working, or simply waiting for something that we know is waiting for us in the future; we are simply separated by time. When we are willing to wait for something, it naturally increases the desire for it, as the demand becomes scarcer, and the duration to obtain it is distant, this can drastically increase our happiness towards finally making it to the end result.
Sometimes the inability to wait, to be patient, creates a short-term solution, or simply a decision we are not fully committed to, or not 100% invested in, simply because the immediate gratification or return is partially right.
I think that waiting for something special can contribute strongly to our search for happiness, as the anticipation and deep connected desire that can come with waiting can amplify our appreciation for that specific something. It builds an excitement that is often unparalleled, making the end result so much more enjoyable.
Waiting teaches us patience and resilience, qualities that are essential for traversing life's challenges. If we have the capacity to hold off for a period of time to acquire something more valuable in the future, it is an important skill, an important educational element, and discipline. It’s an important avenue for understanding what we truly want, and subsequently a important factor in our search for happiness.
Thanks,
