The Search 4 Happiness

Day 237 -Flexibility

Being flexible in our environment is an integral part of our search for happiness. In various situations in our lives, we are put in situations that are very much out of our control. These situations can sway our mindset, disrupt our stability, create unfavourable conditions, and make us feel uncomfortable or out of place. However, it is within these moments that we can choose to be flexible and adapt to the situation. We can learn to understand the direction in which we can change our mindset, adjust our thought process to adapt to different perspectives, and become flexible in our environment.

Confucius once said, “The green reed which bends in the wind is stronger than the mighty oak that breaks in the storm.”

Being flexible in difficult situations is important because if we are unable to adapt, we may become broken or, at least, unable to function effectively in that chosen situation, thereby doing ourselves a disservice. However, it also works in positions of strength. If we can allow ourselves to become flexible in situations where the other party creates conflict or sets a tone of disagreement, it is important for us to create an environment in which we can all be comfortable. This will lead to the most effective, positive, and happy outcome possible.

It is very much apparent to me now that our happiness is dictated by our own emotions, thoughts, and actions. Simply put, if you want to be happy, just be happy, and part of that is the ability not to let external influences hinder our mindset. It's vital in creating a mentality or ideology in which we have the capacity to be flexible and adapt to all situations in life.

Be flexible, adapt, and be comfortable in all situations, good and bad. Because if we are unable to create flexibility in our own minds, then we jeopardize ourselves. Throughout life, there will always be instances that are opposed to our own, instances in which we are questioned, or ways of life flipped upside down. But instead of allowing these situations to break us down, affect our emotions, and lead us to disorder, we should be flexible. Because it will both allow us to be happier and more balanced, and it will also allow us to learn, understand, and grow within the universe with an open mind.

Thanks,
