Day 250 - New Years Eve

And just like that, another year approaches completion, and as the world prepares for the end, people prepare, celebrate, reflect, and plan for the future. I guess in a way, I’ve already been in a reflective and planning state for the past week and have subsequently been in a somewhat closeout mindset. It has been a busy yet quiet time for myself, and my family over the past few days, so we’ve all just been making the most of the downtime before a new year kicks into gear.

To be honest, there were several highlights, and although our house was completed, and I ticked off most of my goals. Overall, it has been a challenging and testing time, filled with a variety of difficult lessons. I wouldn’t say a loss, but most certainly not a win. Yet I appreciate everything that has happened for the learnings and the experiences each has taught me.

As the end nears, I reflect on the good and bad. I greatly appreciate this blog and the lessons it has taught me, the direction it has led me, and the future it holds in my development as a person. I am grateful for my new home, the progress in my career, my training and growth, my beautiful wife, my beautiful children, and the continuous love and fulfillment that we share. It would be easy to turn around and highlight the challenges, negative aspects, incredibly difficult times, and how they tested me, but why? There have been hard moments for myself and my family, just like many others, I’m sure, but those moments have passed, the lessons have been learned, and I live to fight another day, which I am grateful for.

The world is a wonderful place, everything happens for a reason, and it’s simply how we choose to perceive each experience that dictates the outcome, output, and direction of the path we follow. Choose to be good, be kind, and be happy.

Happy New Year to everyone. May your future be full of wonderful adventures, learnings, and growth. Be strong, be brave, be you! I wish you all the very best for what the future holds! 2024.. let’s get it!

Thanks,

Dean
