The Search 4 Happiness
Day 312 - Failsafe

I have noticed that within my own life, I go through various waves in terms of my emotions, the fluctuations in my mentality, and the direction of my energy. It is important for all of us to recognize the moment when we start to somewhat relapse into states of lethargy or moments when we go into counterproductive autopilot, periods of potential self destructive behaviours.
I have previously spoken about regrouping, a fail-safe moment in which we acknowledge the trajectory we are on, pull the rip cord, and implement some systems or processes to reset ourselves and redirect our direction.
In life, too much enjoyment, resulting in overindulgence, can lead to a loss of focus, bad habits taking hold, and a lack of growth. However, even though these periods may not be the most productive, I believe they are still an important aspect of life - actually, a vital aspect - that can lead to deep moments of euphoria and profound life experiences.
Within these moments, or periods in which we get “caught up in the moment”, we need to recognise or create a failsafe that creates that moment of realisation for us, that we have entered a dangerous territory, and it’s time to change direction.
These moments, for me, lead to a moment of reflection, a search for understanding, and a subsequent cleanse. I enjoy routine, and primarily the progress that ensues if it’s foundations is built through consistency and discipline. Sometimes it seems like nothing is happening, and then all of a sudden there's a moment of clarity and progress that shines through. But within any of these periods, I need to experience the release to control elements of myself.
When I have that release, I have learned to naturally default into a cleanse which I have begun the last few days, and will continue to do so for the next month. Within these cleanses I have more time to reflect, train, and grow, and search for deeper meaning to it all. These moments are fundamental in my search for happiness, and a foundational element in controlling who I am, towards the person I wish to become.
Thanks,
Dean
