Throughout my life, I have had various opportunities, primarily within sports or fast-paced tasks, where the pressure starts to build and the time starts to close in, and there is limited time to make the right decision of find a little bit extra within myself. Times when you are left with decisions and opportunities to succeed or fail, these moments create opportunities for us all to overcome challenges or succumb to them.
Moments in which we are tested and the pressure builds, are the moments in which we truly get to test what we have left in the tank. Much of my reflection within this facet is based on sports, and Various trainers and coaches throughout my life have emphasised and have focused a lot on the mentality of the last 5 minutes of a close game – the moments in which the winner or loser is dictated by the desire to win, the desire to push through the pain, and answer the questions that are being asked of us.
I think it’s important to understand, and to an extent always prepare for the possibility of the final climb before we achieve anything we truly aspire to achieve, being a struggle, and a test of the mental strength we have to continue when we are confronted by the challenge.
The last 5 minutes may be demanding, but those moments also hold the potential for great growth and victory if we embrace them with resilience and determination. Within these moments, moments that test our mental fortitude to overcome a challenge we can find solace in the fact that through these challenges and overcoming them, we have find a deep sense of fulfillment and subsequent happiness.
Thanks,
