The Search 4 Happiness
Day 43 - Environment

You, I, we, are all a product of our environments. The places, people, interactions, work, associates, experiences, all of these contribute to our environment and subsequently we are all an output of these things. Whether you create a positive outlook, a negative outlook or a neutral outlook are all dependent on these interactions. Being unique is somewhat of an illusion as you are simply a construct of space and time within your surroundings.
I was fortunate to have grown up in a nice neighbourhood with a nurturing and loving family, everyday comforts were a plenty and we didn’t really struggle for anything. For many this is not the case and the outcome of having a bad environment, unconstructive mentors, negative interactions and the formation of bad ideas being instilled in you can create not just a detrimental output to lives but it can have generational effects.
The reason I talk about environment is because productivity, happiness and a generally positive outlook from those that surround you can be the foundation of steady happiness. As I’ve witnessed countless times all over the world and right here in Australia. Money, wealth and prosperity don’t necessarily bring happiness but a solid environment with positive people who inspire and constantly look to grow for you and with you can. People who want the best for you, instil the best values, morals and support systems are a huge defining factor. These attributes within an environment can create a cornerstone for everyone to succeed
You can’t choose your upbringing and there is a huge amount of luck involved. The odd of being born is 1:400,000,000,000,000. However, maintaining a focus towards something better for yourself and for others, choosing to always take the higher ground, trying to be the best version of yourselves and not letting others instil negative emotions can help you in the right direction. The people you choose to surround yourself with are the biggest indicator of your future self. You're the average of your 5 closest friends so choose wisely and if you feel a bit stumped, stale or just failing to progress in the right direction, maybe it’s time to change it up and create a new and better environment, you can always make a change!
Being around people who encourage you, lift you up and celebrate your successes can greatly help you feel more appreciated and give you a greater sense of self-worth. These elements alone can be a driving force in the search for happiness.
A rising tide lifts all boats
