The Search 4 Happiness
Day 44 - Belief

I wouldn’t say I’m a religious person but I do believe in something more powerful than myself, a divine energy that is a foundational element of the universe, what that is? I’m not sure.
Over the past few weeks I have noticed a few common trends amongst religion and belief systems. Whether it be a god or gods, karma, nature or an underlying energy that connects us all. There is something at play that is more powerful than us all and tapping into, understanding and pursuing a deeper connection to this has merit and although no one truly knows what it is. Once you attain a certain level of consciousness I believe it will become more apparent.
One of the most beneficial things I see in pretty much all religions is a sense of community and a unified approach to the world. The belief in a god, a higher power or energy creates hope, unity, structure and is a strong contributing factor in being a better person. The belief in something bigger than yourself gives purpose, purpose gives structure, structure leads to goals and aspirations, attaining set goals and aspirations creates fulfillment and fulfillment can lead to a strong sense of happiness.
I believe every religion has beneficial elements for every human but the fundamental element of something bigger than ourselves leads to a pursuit of trying to be better in search of acceptance under that said belief. I don’t have a firm belief on anything in this realm and am quite open to all, but I’m starting to think that ‘god’ is simply a somewhat tangible description of a universal energy than connects all beings. This universal energy is so deeply constructed and intertwined with all living and passed on beings that we are not able to even comprehend yet what it is.
The Buddhist’s believe in Tathata - ‘suchness’ - the ultimate nature of all things.
Thanks,
