The Search 4 Happiness
Day 65 - The Elements

I watched a movie today with my son called "Elemental." It's an animation about a society constructed of beings that are made up of the four elements: earth, wind, water, and fire. I think it's ironic how the combination of all the elements cancels each other out; however, without the four as separate entities, life wouldn't exist.
The movie revolves around a family of fire people, primarily focusing on the daughter who is being groomed to take over her father's store. During an inspection on one of the shop's most important days, a water inspector enters the store, writes some citations, and starts the process of shutting down the store. Surprisingly, the waterman and the fire daughter begin to form a bond as she tries to dispute the claims. They develop a friendship and, subsequently, a relationship.
The concept of water and fire combining is seemingly non-existent, as these elements do not mix. However, sometimes opposites do attract, and sometimes giving someone or something a chance that completely contradicts your own self can be a fantastic opportunity to find happiness in an unexpected place.
Opening yourself up to new ideas, people, and experiences, even if they seem like they would never work, has the potential to create a new connection outside of your usual train of thought or normal wavelength. It may lead to unearthing answers to questions you never knew you had. The movie explores this idea through out-of-the-box thinking and an unlikely bond between the waterman and the fire daughter. In the end, they unite, proving that sometimes the union of incompatible elements can bring about remarkable results.
"Elemental" reminds us that opposites can attract, and by embracing new ideas and experiences, we open ourselves up to the possibility of finding happiness in unexpected places.
