Day 66 - Habits
6/30/20232 min read
I read an article a while back about how, statistically speaking, it takes an average of 66 consecutive days to form a habit. When I first started my blog, this day became a significant goal for me in my blog. This day has been embedded in my mind as a significant milestone in the journey towards successfully completing the set target of writing a blog every day for 1 year. I still have a long way to go to complete the blog, but having made it to day 66 is a wonderful achievement for me, and I’m very proud of that.
Creating goals and successfully completing them is a crucial element in driving self-esteem and confidence within yourself. This doesn't necessarily mean that the goals you set need to be all distant and long-term goals either. Sometimes I set goals within my day that are easily achievable because it creates positive momentum, and a win is a win, big or small.
Obviously, you will obtain more within yourself when the goals are harder and require more effort and dedication to achieve. Because the harder the struggle, the bigger the reward. But you should embrace any sort of target or goal that is achieved with celebration. I still tend to focus on the process because I believe that it is part of the essence in growth, fulfillment, and happiness. However, setting a goal, creating a plan towards it, and successfully achieving the goal through grit and determination is a wonderful thing to focus on and important to create and maintain purpose within our lives.
Forming habits, setting goals, and being consistent are indeed fundamental in the search for happiness. By setting goals and forming habits, we establish a sense of direction and purpose in our lives. This gives us something to strive for and a reason to keep going, even during challenging times.
When we consistently work towards our goals, whether they are short-term or long-term, we build a sense of accomplishment and confidence in our abilities. Each milestone we reach brings a sense of satisfaction and motivates us to keep pushing forward. The process of setting goals and working towards them also helps us grow as individuals, as we learn from our experiences and develop new skills along the way.
Forming positive habits contributes significantly to our overall well-being and happiness. When we make a habit out of doing things that align with our values and bring us joy, we create a positive cycle that enhances our happiness. Consistency is key in habit formation, as repeating a behaviour regularly reinforces it in our daily lives.
Forming habits, setting goals, and being consistent play vital roles in the pursuit of happiness. They give us a sense of purpose, boost our self-esteem, and contribute to personal growth. Whether it's accomplishing small daily goals or working towards bigger aspirations, embracing the process and celebrating achievements along the way can bring fulfilment and create a meaningful and purposeful life.
Keep at it
Thanks,
