Shame, good and evil, oversight, the elements, our habits, logotherapy, planting seeds, having a reset and I wrote a poem.
As I dive deeper into my search for happiness I find myself wondering in obscure or somewhat out of scope areas that are opening new avenues to ideas and perceptions I have witnessed but never evaluated in my day to day life.
In a society where shame is instilled in children from a young age, encouraging individuality and removing the idea of shame can lead to happier and more confident people, capable of achieving their goals and living fulfilling lives, emphasizing the importance of creating an environment that nurtures children's individuality and empowering them to make their own decisions, ultimately shifting our focus from "normal" to what is healthy and fulfilling for each individual and creating a world that is inclusive and free from shame.
The balance between good and evil is a necessary element in the universe, represented by the concept of Yin and Yang, as it allows us to appreciate the contrast between light and darkness and ultimately how the search for happiness can be achieved through overcoming suffering and making choices that contribute to a more positive world.
The pursuit of happiness is not about obtaining happiness itself, but rather about finding meaning, purpose, and fulfillment in life, which requires building a mindset of presence, understanding, and enjoyment, constantly striving for growth and improvement, contributing to society, and practicing servitude to others.
I watched the movie “Elemental," it was an animation about a society of beings made up of earth, wind, water, and fire, it explores the idea that opposites can attract as a boy made of water and a girl made of fire make a deep rooted connection and that by embracing new ideas and experiences, we open ourselves up to the possibility of finding happiness in unexpected places
Setting goals and forming habits are crucial in driving self-esteem and confidence, as they provide a sense of direction and purpose, boost our self-esteem, and contribute to our growth, whether it's accomplishing small daily goals or working towards larger aspirations.
Viktor Frankl, a psychiatrist, neurologist, and Holocaust survivor, wrote a book called Man's Search for Meaning, which delves into the atrocities of that time and his creation of Logotherapy, a psychological framework that emphasizes finding meaning and purpose in life, embracing personal responsibility, nurturing deep connections with others, and viewing suffering as opportunities for growth, ultimately leading to a deeper sense of happiness and fulfillment.
In the midst of our chaotic lives, it is important to make room for a simple reset, whether it be a small change of scenery or a moment of reflection, to recharge our overused routine batteries and realign ourselves with our true objectives, values, and happiness.
It is vital in our search for happiness and fulfilment that when we are metaphorically planting seeds, we do so with good intentions, caring for them diligently, as they ultimately determine the positive or negative outcomes we experience in life, reminding us that our current decisions shape the future we create for ourselves and the world.
Finally, as I was sitting on a balcony watching the sunset I chose to write a poem for my post. Throughout my journey so far I’ve inadvertently been lead down a path of universal truth and somewhat of a search for a deeper understanding of the universe and our inclusion in it, coincidently I’ve read more on space and nothing, the concept of time, the here and now and how the consistent and calculated approach we take in our direction of life creates vibrations that transmit long into our future and deep into the universe as energy waves for all time.
Overall I’ve learnt new lessons, found new meaning in my life and meaning in the world. I’ve explored some of my thoughts and ideas and hopefully some of them may contribute positively to your lives.
Thanks,
Dean
