The Search 4 Happiness
Day 76 - Consistency

Without a consistent approach to any endeavour, your chances of succeeding are drastically reduced. I've had a variety of interests throughout my life, and the initial excitement is always great. But as quickly as it enters your mind, the excitement can fade, and either sheer devotion and/or motivation will pull you through, or you will drop off the bandwagon and forget about it in quick succession.
Once you have established a deeper attachment to the idea, consistency and discipline become the driving metrics necessary to grow and transform it.
Everything in life that's worth achieving requires hard work and consistent dedication. Quick returns may fuel your ego and give you a sense of achievement, but without the driving process of consistent improvement to the cause, the feeling will fade as fast as it came to fruition. Whether the final goal is large or small, or the prize is big or not even existent, the consistent process of improvement and incremental development of the skill is one of the fundamental drivers of fulfillment.
Every endeavour that I have found to have a significant impact on my mind, body, or soul has required a long-term consistent approach. What I have actually found is that the achievement, although fantastic, is not the most rewarding part. Rather, the consistent improvement and growth are where the true return lies.
Consistency in maintaining positive habits and routines creates a true sense of stability and structure in our lives which in turn leads to a pure feeling of contentment and growth. By consistently pursuing personal goals and aspirations we are all far more likely to experience fulfillment and satisfaction in our lives.
Our commitment to a consistent approach to self-improvement creates a deep sense of purpose and progress, which contributes to our well-being and is a strong factor in the search for happiness
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit” - Aristotle
