The Search 4 Happiness
Day 88 - Baci

Yesterday, I was eating a Baci chocolate, and I discovered a piece of paper inside the wrapper with an aphorism that truly resonated with me. It said, "Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn't know you left open." These words have lingered in my mind, prompting me to reflect on how easily we can overlook the things that bring us joy and fulfillment.
In our pursuit of societal norms or what is considered progress, we often leave behind parts of ourselves that once brought us happiness. We may be influenced by the idea that certain activities or interests are only for a specific age group or type of people. It's disheartening to realize that we have let go of these aspects of our lives without even realizing it. However, in moments of recollection, these forgotten fragments can resurface, reminding us of the joy they once brought us.
I firmly believe in not giving up the things you enjoy. This advice is especially relevant for young parents who are embarking on their journey of raising a family. It is essential for them to prioritize themselves to some extent, as forgetting who they are can hinder their ability to guide their children with a concept of their ideologies, morals and character. Reminiscing about past happiness or reigniting lost passions can be a wonderful experience. Though I may have forgotten about certain things in my own past, they sometimes resurface unexpectedly and serve as a reminder of the wonderful times I once had.
Gestures like Baci chocolates, fortune cookies, or any product accompanied by a thoughtful phrase or aphorism have always fascinated me. I find this simple yet profound idea truly meaningful. Over the years, I have come across thousands of these phrases, and while I often merely glance at them, there are moments when I am caught off guard and truly absorb the words. These moments provide a deep and meaningful impact on my mind and soul.
The aphorism in the Baci chocolate I read served as a gentle reminder for me to hold onto my true self and the happiness that has shaped my path in life. It reminded me that happiness can often find its way back into our lives unexpectedly, through doors we didn't even know were open. Allowing yourself the opportunity to maintain as many open doors is a strong contributor in the search for happiness.
Thanks,
